How to make your own doodle notes without a computer

Are you the type of teacher who would rather pull out scissors and literally cut and paste rather than arrange graphics and text on a computer screen?

Then this DIY is for you!  All you need is a few simple stencils.  You can even use jar lids and pattern blocks if you don’t have fancy stencil shapes!

Watch the video for inspiration, then try laying out a few simple boxes, arrows, and organizers on your page.  Then, just photocopy your template and distribute.  Your students will get the brain benefits of visual note taking with minimal prep on your end!

  1. I wanted to leave a review and I’m not sure if this is the correct place to do this. The information and ideas on this site are fantastic! The creator has obviously put a lot of time and energy into creating quality resources. I subscribed but my lack of patience for this type of tech and figuring out how to manipulate the templates was too much for me. I emailed to explain my issues and to request a refund. My request was acknowledged quickly. The point I wanted to reinforce is that they have fantastic customer service! Thank you!

  2. I’m super excited about trying this with my students! Quick question, where did you get the stencils that you are using? I love the ones on the key ring.

    1. Wonderful! I hope they enjoy this.
Some are from Hobby Lobby and some are from Amazon. 🙂
I got these sets years ago, though, so I am not sure if you can find the exact ones.
The ones on the key ring were designed for planners / bullet journaling so you can try adding that to your search if it helps.
      Have a great week!
